On receipt of the written report of the inspection, the purchaser has a window of time to accept the yacht, reject the yacht or request a price reduction based on survey findings.
Once the yacht has been accepted, your AYC broker will provide the proper “Acceptance of Vessel Form” (attach link to a blank copy) to be signed.
Your AYC broker will also provide assistance with securing marine insurance and locating suitable dockage.
Once all documentation is signed and in place the final closing can be completed in two ways:
The first option is to have a “dry closing”. No persons are present and the monies are transferred via wire. All documents are exchanged by registered mail. Ownership is taken after documents and wires are received.
The second option is an “in person” closing. Your AYC broker would organize a meeting of all parties and closing documents would be signed and monies exchanged in person. This usually takes place in one of AYC’s two office locations.
Your AYC broker would then present you with all the relevant paperwork for the yacht, the manuals and of course the keys!
